PSYCHOLOGICAL MECHANISMS OF EMOTIONAL WELLBEING
Abstracts

Introduction. The arguments proving relevance of studying of psychological mechanisms of formation of emotional wellbeing are presented in article. On the basis of the analysis of scientific literature it is concluded that as such mechanisms it is possible to consider ways of management of emotions: global orientations, reflection and features of the person. Article purpose – to prove and to empirically prove that mechanisms of emotional wellbeing of the person are: hardiness, intelligence of life, self-updating and reflection.

Materials and methods. The main research techniques are the analysis of the scientific literature devoted to a problem of the nature of emotional wellbeing; and also the diagnostic techniques including poll and testing. Acted as concrete techniques: "The updated Oxford questionnaire of happiness" (OHI); questionnaire "Satisfaction with life" of N.N. Melnikova's (UDZh); "Hardiness test" of S. Maddi in D.A. Leontyev's adaptation; "Purpose-in-Life Test" D.A. Leontyev's (PIL); Self-Actualization Test (SAT); "Technique of diagnostics of the level of development of reflexivity" of A.V. Karpov. Methods of descriptive statistics, Test Kolmogorov-Smirnov, a component analysis and the regression analysis of data were applied to mathematical data processing.

Results. The data obtained on selection of 177 people aged from 17 up to 65 years showed that the dependence of level of emotional wellbeing on the level of hardiness, conciseness of life and reflection has linear character (to growth of independent variables there is growth of dependent variable), and from the level of self-actualization – nonlinear (achievement of the maximum level of independent variable requires achievement of optimum level of independent variable).

Discussion. Results of a research allowed to confirm a hypothesis that have an impact on the level of emotional wellbeing: level of hardiness, intelligence of life, self-actualization and reflexivity of the personality. It allows to consider them as mechanisms of emotional wellbeing.

Conclusion. The conclusion that mechanisms of emotional wellbeing are ways of regulation of emotions (especially, the perceptions of a situation based on change), features of the personality; mechanisms of change of emotional consequences of events (reflection).
